Counterpunch @ Gloves

Gloves Boxing is proud to host the Counterpunch programme for people with Parkinsons.

We have always known exercise is good for you and boxing is one of the best forms of exercise available. Now more and more research is showing that impactful exercise, like boxing, is also helpful to manage and even alleviate the symptoms of Parkinsons.

The Gloves coaching team have all trained up in the Counterpunch programme and are running Counterpunch specific classes every Sunday afternoon from 1-2pm at our boxing facility in Hopper St, Mount Cook starting on 1 March.

We are committed to offering a friendly, welcoming, and supportive environment for our high-intensity non-contact classes which have been specifically designed for people living with Parkinson's.

The classes focus on improving strength and fitness with exercises which will help with posture, balance, gait, size and speed of movement, agility, and flexibility.

You are welcome to bring friends and family to the classes. We will help them join in and be part of the fun.

To find out more or get answers to any questions please email us.

Note: We have a little bit of paperwork we like to get done before you do a class so if it is your first time please come about half an hour early, at 12.30 so we can work through that with you.
